Overview
An email digest is a daily email sent by one of our email security tools called Check Point. It shows a list of emails your mailbox received that were classified as either malicious or spam/junk. Emails that are malicious (such as phishing emails) are sent to quarantine. Emails that are labeled as spam/junk are sent to your Junk folder. Graymail is sent to your Promotions folder and will not show up in the email digest.
Check Point will automatically send you an email digest at 6 AM if you received any quarantine or spam/junk emails in the preceding 24 hours. If your mailbox did not receive any quarantine or spam/junk email in the last 24 hours you will not receive an email digest. Because of this, it is recommended to keep at least one copy of your email digest if you want to generate another digest on demand (see next section for more details).

Generating a new digest
Although email digests are sent out at 6 AM, you can generate an email digest at any time. To do so, just click on the "Generate a new quarantine report of the last 24 hours" link at the bottom of your digest and a new one that will include any new quarantine and spam/junk emails will be sent to your inbox.

It is important to note that the link is a specific URL tied to your account and as such there is no link that can be made available to everyone to use. This is why it is recommended to keep a copy of your email digest handy if you plan on generating digests. However, you can still go to the Email Security Portal at any time to also view new quarantine email.
Check Point will also require user verification once every 30 days when requesting an email digest on demand. This will require you to enter in your email address and a code mailed to your email address, similar to what is seen in the "Spam/junk section" documentation below.

Quarantine section
Emails that the security system classifies as malicious are routed to quarantine. If an email was sent to quarantine within the last 24 hours you will see it pop up in the "Quarantine Emails" section of the email digest.

To the right of each email in this section is a link labeled "Preview" that will take you to the Email Security Portal where you can view all your quarantine email. This does the same thing as clicking the "Email Security Portal" link near the top of the email digest.

Spam/junk section
Emails that the security system classifies as spam/junk are routed to your Junk folder in your mailbox. If an email was sent to your Junk folder within the last 24 hours you will see it pop up in the "Spam/Junk Emails" section of the email digest.

To the right of each email in this section is a link labeled "Trust Sender" that will allow you to add the sender or the sender's domain to your Trusted Sender's list. This will make sure that all future emails from that sender (ex: cisco-security-care@cisco.com) or any email from anyone in their domain (ex: cisco.com) will bypass both spam/junk and graymail filtering, ensuring that their emails go straight to your inbox. However, if an email from a Trusted Sender (or Safe Sender) is classified as malicious, it will end up in your quarantine and will show up in the email digest in the "Quarantine Emails" section.
To trust a sender from an email digest:
- Click "Trust Sender" to right of the email you want to target.
- You will be prompted to verify your request. Enter in your email address and click Submit. If the email digest is sent to a shared mailbox, make sure you enter in that email address and not your user email address.
- You will receive an email to that address you entered with a verification code. Copy the code.
- Go back to the website and enter in the verification code you copied. Click Submit.
- You will be prompted to select the sender's email address or the sender's domain. Choose the option would like, then click Submit.
The sender (or sender's domain) is now in your Trusted Senders list. You can also add (and manage) Trusted Senders using the Email Security Portal.
